Knee-Hip Arthroscopy and Sports Traumatology
In Orthopedics and Traumatology, there are 2 aspects of the work, which includes a high range of traumatic injury of the extremities-spine and degenerative diseases of musculoskeletal system. In our practice we can manage these conditions including fractures of bones, associated soft tissue injuries such as nerves and tendon-ligament units.
We have the academic excellence and the highest levels of expertise and skill. We believe the necessity of sub-specialization and provide specialized services on Trauma Surgery, Hand and Microsurgery, Sports related Knee-Hip Arthroscopic Surgery, Foot and Ankle Surgery, and Joint Replacement Surgery.
Common surgeries we carry out:
Bone fracture fixation: Fracture fixation is possible with many different techniques. In time, with the development of many sophisticated implants, it is more secure to fix the bones and achieve the joint mobilization as soon as possible leading to early recovery.
Arthroplasty: Arthritis is very common in elderly patients but also can be seen in young patients due to other conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis. Treatment of advanced stages of osteoarthritis with joint replacement surgery is satisfactory. Newer implants and designs made these durable with high satisfaction rates.
Hand and Microsurgery: Our brain reserves a huge area for hand usage and fine work. This makes the recovery of hand trauma very important and unique. Under magnification and using the microscopes, treatment of tiny structures such as 1-2 mm diameters of vessels and nerves and treatment of tendon ruptures are possible. Management of hand trauma needs careful skills and knowledge. Also close follow-up and intense aftercare are crucial for this kind of injuries.
Arthroscopy: It is possible to visualise the joints with optic devices and repair the ligaments and tendons in shoulder, knee, hip, and also in narrow joints such as wrist and elbow. These surgeries are often carried out with small multiple incisions (most of the time just 1 cm long) and enable early recovery. Our special interests are arthroscopic treatment of shoulder rotator cuff tendon tears, hip labrum repair, treatment of tennis elbow and TFCC repair of wrist joint.
